Methodology & Important Context

This page uses automated name matching to identify potential overlaps between charity trustees and service providers. A trustee’s Companies Office directorships are compared against the charity’s registered service providers (auditors, accountants, lawyers, consultants).

A match does not indicate wrongdoing. Many overlaps are legitimate and properly disclosed. Charities may have valid governance reasons for these arrangements. This tool is intended to support disclosure review, not to make determinations of impropriety.

Name matching may produce false positives (e.g., common company name fragments) or miss conflicts where names differ. Results should be verified against charity annual returns and interest registers.
