(a) To promote the advancement of women and the enhancement of their status within New Zealand, and in developing countries as recognised by the United Nations from time to time by: (i) promoting the education of girls and women (ii) improving the health status of women by the relief of sickness and disease (iii) relieving poverty among women. (b) To promote, obtain and achieve any of the objects of the Trust by or through the facilities available at any university, scientific or research institute or other organisation and to make and receive grants of money or otherwise as the Trustees deem proper and reasonable and provided such payments/grants made are to: – (i) charitable and/or educational organisations within New Zealand (ii) poor and needy girls and women within New Zealand within developing countries as recognised by the United Nations from time to time who are in need of such assistance, without regard to their religious
