Toro Atu Charitable Trust primary purpose is (in each case within New Zealand) a) To educate Reretewhioi Whaanau, Hapu and community on Maori history of Reretewhioi and environs at all levels. b) To provide support for the administration and maintenance of Reretewhioi Marae. c) To provide cultural education to Waiuku and Waikato-Tainui to sustain and improve the cultural future of Waiuku and Waikato-Tainui.( e.g. te poukai) d) To relieve poverty by providing training and employment opportunities for Rangatahi and the unemployed. e) To provide relief for the aged by providing housing, meals, caregiving and transport for Kuia and Kaumatua in need. f) To promote health by providing health services or programmes to Reretewhioi whaanau, hapu and community. g) To promote the preservation of the environment in the Reretewhioi community. h) To promote social rehabilitation of at-risk youth. i) To promote the educational achievement of Reretewhioi whaanau, hapu and community.
