Mission: Currently the Thames Youth Centre is a stand alone Youth Centre for young people, aged between 11 and 24 years. The centre is not connected to a church, or a health provider. We are an independent charitable organisation and much of the work at the centre relies on donated volunteer time. We provide an independent social, arts and recreational space for young people. We aim to address the needs of young people by facilitating a number of programs that encourage youth participation. We strive to enhance community participation and showcase the talents and ability of youth. To achieve this the Thames Youth Centre is involved in Youth leadership development, advocacy work and we encourage other youth focused organisations to be involved with, and utilise the Thames Youth Centre space. The committee has been reinventing the space as a response from local youth. The Committee is made up of a number of community volunteers, all of whom work with youth
