About
The Tauranga Moan a Maori Trust Board is a body corporate constituted under provisions of the Maori Trust Board Act 1955 and subsequent Amendments. It is charged with the administration of its assets, in accordance with the provisions of the Act for the general benefit of its beneficiaries. The Trust Board continues to seek opportunities of improving returns on its assets to ensure that associated benefits may be passed on to beneficiaries through its affiliated Hapu Communities. Its purpose is to administer settlement funds, uphold the interests of descendants affected by the conflicts, and promote kotahitanga and tino rangatiratanga. The Board supports cultural preservation and the social, educational, and economic wellbeing of its people through strategic land investments, including orchard development, partnerships with iwi enterprises, commercial leasing, and culturally aligned land acquisitions.
