Southland Heritage Building and Preservation Trust

To establish a heritage building preservation fund that the trustees may lend to owners of Southland registered and heritage listed buildings at the discretion of the Trustees if necessary to maintain such buildings in good condition for so long as practically possible for future New Zealanders and overseas tourists to enjoy Southland heritage. To encourage the retention, preservation and maintenance of historic and heritage buildings within Southland. The furtherment of such other charitable purposes as the Trustees shall determine and are approved by the Commissioner of Inland Revenue.
