SANDS (Stillbirth and Newborn Death Support) Waikato

Sands Waikato's purpose is: 1. To support parents and their families who have experienced the death of a baby, regardless of the cause of death, primarily during pregnancy or infancy. 2. To provide parents and their families with information to assist them to make informed decisions regarding their loss. 3. To provide on-going education to health professionals and other care givers about baby loss. 4. To educate the public about Sands Waikato and the services it provides and issues relating to baby death. 5. To promote implementation of health care policies that meet the Sands NZ Philosophical Statement, guidelines and policies. 6. To promote research into the causes and consequences of baby loss. 7. To network with other organisations that hold similar aims to Sands Waikato.
