The purpose of the Trust is to: 2.1 Enhancing the knowledge and mātauranga in relation to traditional practices of gathering mahinga kai 2.2 Strengthening and building rangatahi connection with Te Ao Māori. 2.3 Strengthening rangatahi cultural identity. 2.4 Strengthening rangatahi connections to tupuna through traditional knowledge sharing and practices. 2.5 Enhancing environmental identity to the ngahere, whenua and moana as defined by our Tipuna. Gaining perspective on life to reconnect and survive in the outdoor environment. 2.6 Increasing self confidence and self awareness by developing social connections through the creation of special and life-long friendships and bonds. 2.7 Gaining outdoors, mahinga kai life skills and social skills while developing trusted and respected relationships based on manaakitanga, wairuatanga, kotahitanga, rangatiratanga and whakawhanaugatanga. 2.8 Teaching personal development skills and create a pathway for future leaders.
