Mataweka Marae

To manage and protect the Marae so that it: 1. Is a Kāinga and ūkaipō for its people 2. Exemplifies the practice of manaakitanga to promote the mana of the marae and the hau kāinga 3. Upholds whakapapa, kōrero, tikanga and kawa pertaining to the marae and its beneficiaries 4. Provides suitable physical structures for beneficiaries to meet for hui, tangihanga, karakia, hui-ā-tau or for any other purpose that enables them to express themselves as whānau, hapū or iwi and to host manuhiri 5. Supports hui and wānanga to advance the cultural, spiritual, physical, educational, and recreational well-being of the beneficiaries 6. Functions in times of need to whāngai the beneficiaries and their whānau
