The primary objects for which the Trust is established are: (a) Working in the community to assist those affected by conditions of poverty, social inequity and injustice; (b) The offering of community programmes and initiatives that contribute to the physical, spiritual, social, emotional and mental development and wellbeing of people and communities; (c) The improvement of society, specifically the communities in which Cession Community Trust has influence, including the Howick Ward. (d) To carry out such other charitable purposes within New Zealand that the trustees may determine.
