To acquire, restore and preserve in flying condition a collection of aircraft types that were flown by combatants during World War 2 for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of New Zealanders. To establish an organisation with the dedication and enthusiasm to operate, maintain and preserve the aircraft. To construct and obtain buildings for the permanent protection, maintenance and display of the aircraft. To promote the development of a museum recording the history of the battles fought in the Pacific region during World War 2. To promote and encourage aviation and any activity allied to the operation of aircraft. To encourage youth to become involved in aviation utilising the society's aircraft.
