The Street Outreach Service operates in several locations in Auckland and provides harm minimization, support, information, referrals and crisis intervention to individuals who may be homeless on the streets or otherwise at risk. The patrols are staffed by trained volunteers and provide drinks and snacks, sleeping bags, winter socks, jackets, beanies and scarfs. Emotional support where required, transport where young people are otherwise at risk, information on a wide range of issues and available services, information on issues regarding health, social or lifestyle issues, alcohol and other drugs and referrals and connections to other professional agencies. Support is provided by teams of trained and supported volunteers.o reach out to at-risk people groups through community projects, providing information, networking and other methods that promote a safer lifestyle.
