Aotearoa Refugee Support Trust

The charitable purposes are centred on supporting asylum seekers & refugees in Aotearoa New Zealand. It operates as an independent, non-governmental, non-partisan entity that monitors issues affecting these communities, advocates for their rights/entitlements, & provides essential services such as emergency housing, food, & immigration assistance. The Trust is empowered to pursue other charitable activities aligned with its overarching mission to support asylum seekers & refugees. Its objectives focus on promoting equitable & compassionate treatment of asylum seekers & refugees by government, public & other organisations. It aims to raise awareness of their rights & challenges, advise on policy, & enhance service delivery from key agencies. It also works directly with individuals to support successful resettlement & maintains strong relationships with relevant organisations. It upholds principles of diversity & non-discrimination, in line with the Human Rights Act 1993.
