Objects The objects of the Society are: (a) to promote, support and provide forums to educate professionals involved in abortion and sexual and reproductive health care to ensure current best practice and care; (b) to promote research in abortion and sexual and reproductive health and to disseminate the findings of that research; (c) to promote national and international networking with other organisations in the area of abortion and sexual and reproductive health; (d) to provide financial or other appropriate assistance to professionals wanting to further their skills and/or knowledge in abortion and sexual and reproductive health care; and (e) to speak on the members’ behalf in relation to standards of abortion care, clinical skills and abortion providers’ professional development requirements with appropriate Government departments and other agencies.
