Methodology & Important Context
Current charity officers with cross-platform profiles are screened against the MBIE Insolvency Register. Matching is by name and may produce false positives — a match does not confirm that the insolvency record belongs to this person.
An insolvency record does not necessarily prevent someone from being a charity trustee. The Charities Act 2005 s16 disqualifies undischarged bankrupts from being officers, but discharged bankrupts face no such restriction. This page is intended to support governance review, not to make determinations about eligibility.
Display of insolvency data is time-limited per the MBIE API Access Agreement: bankruptcy and no-asset procedures are shown for 4 years from discharge; summary instalment orders for 5 years from order date. Exceptions apply for multiple insolvencies.
