To protect the land of the Whataroa Bay area of the Port Underwood peninsular from soil erosion and to protect the waterways of the inner Port Underwood and Cook Strait coastal zone from fine silt sedimentation. To encourage the regeneration of native forest within the Whataroa Bay area of the Port Underwood peninsular. To remove wilding pine from the area and plant native canopy trees. To establish a long term carbon sink.
