Whakamatau Eel Management Trust

The Trust's objectives require the use of the Trust fund to further the charitable purposes and objects such as: - Investigating the feasibility of transporting migrant sexually mature female long-finned eels in lake Coleridge; - To undertake any research that furthers the objects including but not limited to: a study of the migration habits of the eels in the Rakaia catchment and Lake Coleridge; a study of the habitat requirements and breeding habits of the female eels; - To fund measures as may be needed to sustain migrant long finned eels in Lake Coleridge; - To implement any trapping and transporting measures as necessary.
