WELLINGTON MOUNTAIN BIKE CLUB INCORPORATED
About
The Wellington Mountain Bike Club is a charitable organisation based in New Zealand's capital city. Run by volunteers, we build and maintain tracks, run events and support mountain biking & mountain bikers alike. The Club is also responsible for trails across the City through various trail building teams, including: Centennial Reserve, Miramar (Miramar Trail Project) Mystic Portal (Brooklyn) Hippy's Trail and Super D (Mt Victoria Trails) Aro Valley Trails (Brooklyn Trail Builders) Matiarangi We work closely with land managers, in particular the Wellington City Council to build an maintain dual use tracks for the use by the general public, including non club member mountain bikers, runners, dog walkers and walkers. The trails are often used by council staff to provide access into the town belt to assist with pest control (both animal and plant pests). As part of our trail building activities, we plant several thousand native seedlings per year in the areas our tracks pass through.
