About
The purpose of the Warmer Heathier Homes (WHH) Te Tau Ihu Charitable Trust is to assist people on low incomes in Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough to make their homes warmer, drier and healthier. We do this by providing subsidised home retrofits (including insulation and where appropriate draft stopping, heating or other solutions) to support improved living environments for residents. The aim is to reduce illness and improve older homes' energy efficiency, benefiting households on low incomes, with documented health conditions and/or young children. To achieve this, WHH seeks and applies for donations, subsidies and grants from existing funding partners and prospective partners. In the past, the WHH programme operated under the umbrella of another registered charity (a founding member of the programme and signatory to the MoU), the Nelson Tasman Housing Trust (NTHT).
