This can be done through: - resotration and preservation of the historic boatshed and slipway (circa 1930's) and Lake Wakatipu Steam Shipping Co shipping offices (circa 1860's) - development of the shipping office as a maritime museum - promote, facilitate and administer the historic boatshed and shpping office in the interest of education and recreation - acquire, lease, trade, borrow items that the society deems desirable to further preserve or educate about maritime heritage - assist in the restoration of other maritime projects, particularly the restoration of the historic jetty adjacent to the shipping office and boatshed - create a community meeting place adjacent to Lake Wakatipu that can be leased to enable on-going maintenance and seed money for future restoration projects
