To ensure the continuity, promotion and development of the Wairoa District's Heritage Protection and Museums for the benefit of the people of the Wairoa District and it's future generations. To establish, maintain, operate and develop a District Museum, for cultural purposes in Wairoa. To promote a sense of history and awareness of the importance of the Nation's heritage in New Zealand and particularly in Wairoa. To maintain, conserve, display and research property of cultural significance and interest.
