To establish and maintain community gardens based on identified needs, involve residents in the creation, maintenance and rewards of gardening. To provide food, recreation and therapeutic opportunities for a community. Promote environmental awareness and provide community education, foster community well-being in a holistic manner and network together in caring manner. Work with the local iwi, encourage sustainable practices and strengthen the community through gardens.
