Waihopai Runaka draws breath from its Whakapapa, Whenua and Whanau. Descendants of Tahu Potiki, we stand as Ngai Tahu, Kati Mamoe me Waitaha. Waihopai Runaka undertakes the roles and responsibilities of manawhenua in our role, and as one of the 18 Papatipu Runaka of Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu. It is the purpose of Waihopai Runaka to retore, revitalise and sustain the culture, heritage and marae and effectively invest in the future of the whanau.
