To'utupu Tonga Trust

The Trust deed was finalised in March 1997 by Rev. Ikilifi Lui Pope, Yvette Guttenbeil Po'uhila and Jenny Schaaf. The aim of the Trust is to establish and assist Tongan young people and young people from the South pacific who have settled in New Zealand. The objectives of the Trust are to: 1) Assist and support Tongan pacific young people who are struggling to their new way of life in New Zealand. 2) Promote educational, social and spiritual aspects in the life of young people. 3) Encourage young people to be active and participate in community activities and sports events. 4) Identify young people's needs. 5) Promote culture in the life of Tongan youth. 6) Develop new suitable ways for youth to look after their physical and mental health. 7) Encourage and promote them to join training programs in order to get employment skills and cope with New Zealand way of life.
