Mission: The objectives of the Chapter are: To promote the enjoyment of barbershop harmony singing. We provide vocal education to our members and entertainment for the public. Our Charity provides umbrella services to two barbershop choruses: Mighty River Harmony is a men's chorus which has been operating for over 30 years. The Chorus provides a place for men of all ages to come together through the joy of music. Manu Mātātahi is a newer chorus, formed in 2021 which serves a diverse range of rangatahi who all love to sing. Both groups provide an avenue for social connection, musical education and personal growth. During the year both groups hold public performances in the community, including retirement villages, hospitals, public squares, and libraries. We also put on concerts to showcase the talent within our groups, as well as local high school barbershop ensembles. Both groups also attend the annual Barbershop Harmony New Zealand national competition
