To promote preservation of life on St Clair beach and throughout Otago & NZ To promote, study and practice the methods of surf life saving. To minimise the loss of life from drowning by providing efficient life saving equipment and by training members to use such equipment. To assist and renew all possible aid to surf bathes in distress. To encourage the promotion and the fostering of comradeship.
