Beth Shalom's vision is to be a strong vibrant community with a spriritual heart embracing Jewish life and its diversity. Beth Shalom's objects include: (a) to provide, support and maintain the assets and activities necessary to carry out the practices of the Congregation and of Progressive Judaism in general; (b) to unite Progressive Jews in Auckland and surrounding regions; (c) to further the development of Progressive Judaism; (d) to stimulate and encourage the study of Judaism, its language, history and lore; (e) to awaken an active interest in those Jews who, for one reason or another, are not participating in Jewish religious life; (f) to promote the highest interests and principles of Judaism by cooperating with other Progressive Jewish Congregations and with other sections of New Zealand Jewry in aspects of our common Judaism; (g) to promote and maintain care and concern for our Congregants; and (h) to build strong and positive relationships with the wider community
