To encourage interest in astronomy and related subjects. To encourage and facilitate astronomical research and observational astronomy. (4) To act in a support capacity for the Ahiaruhe Observatory (Wairarapa) to facilitate observational astronomy and astronomical research. (6) To promote and hold lectures, social functions, meetings and discussions either between members, or with other clubs, societies or associations of a similar nature.
