To promote and enhance knowledge and education regarding the sport of yachting, traditional boat building practices and the preservation and enhancement of maritime knowledge . To contribute to the development of a public waterfront in Auckland and in particular the renovation and on going preservation of the historic "Vos Shipyard" in Beaumont Street , Auckland and to make its best endeavours to ensure it remains ; (a) A place accessible by all Aucklanders and visitors to Auckland (b)To host maritime-themed events for the community of Auckland District (c)A place to express Auckland's cultural heritage and show this to the community ; and (d) Enables the public to view a working waterfront.
