Promoting the study of the South East Asia region especially its history and demonstrating and advancing New Zealand’s interest in the subject, by assisting academic staff, teachers, researchers, students and tertiary students to advance their knowledge and understanding of that region; facilitating and advancing the standard of performance of serious musical works in New Zealand, particularly in the orchestral, choral and operatic fields, with special emphasis on the lesser-known; Initiating or assisting in the purchase or legitimate copying of any books, manuscripts, musical scores, materials and any apparatus necessary for any course of study or research in the musical, historical or South East Asian sphere or for performance in the musical sphere; Initiating or assisting in the publication of any other publications in order to support any of the foregoing activities.
