About

Mission

The objects & purposes for the Charitable Trust is to fund, through a unique & unified national Centre of Research Excellence known as "Brain Research New Zealand-Rangahau Roro Aotearoa", the establishment & ongoing operation of a network of Dementia Research Clinics across New Zealand, plus attendant supporting research. The purpose is to trial, on well-characterised clinical populations at the earliest stages of sympton onset, different novel treatment options which could slow down the onset & progression of the disease. Researchers receiving funding from the Trust will also work to identify biomarkers, mechanisms of disease & potential treatment strategies for Alzheimer's & other dementias. The overall objective of this research is to identify new treatment strategies & the period of time when they will be most efficacious. In addition, to carry on any other charitable object capable of being conveniently carried on directly or indirectly to advance the above charitable objects.
