To be beneficial to the community by preserving operating and maintaining in fully serviceable flying condition the Society’s PBY-5A Catalina aircraft registered ZK-PBY and any other aircraft or other assets subsequently acquired. To be beneficial to the community and to provide public benefit by way of advancement of education Participate in community events, airshows and other events with educational displays, handouts and information pertaining to the significance of Catalinas, including their service to New Zealand and other nations. Inform and educate the public at military, aviation and community events on the sacrifices made by service men and women during the WWII conflict with emphasis on the role of maritime aviation. Fundraise for charitable organisations supported by the society and raise public awareness of these organisations and their importance to the community
