The Maori Evangelical Church (INC) was commissioned by Maori Christians in 1965 to provide a Maori Indigenous Christian church. The principal aims are: *To provide a place of worship for the Maori Christians and yet have a open door for all who may wish to share in its worship and fellowship. *To encourage Maori Leadership and thus give them opportunity to be responsible for Church Government. * To foster Christian growth through teaching missions and through concentrated Bible Studies. *Evangelisation of the Maori people as an individual and collective responsibility. *To foster a place of worship and fellowship in which Maori cultural practises are valued that is through whanaungatanga/shared collective, te reo/Maori language, waiata/songs, ka
