The Lower Hutt Suffrage Centennial Scholarship Charitable Trust

To provide or assist in the provision of finance for female students of the Lower Hutt Valley area who wish to pursue their abilities or talents in any pursuit allied to their education at a tertiary level. The purpose of the Scholarship Fund is to financially assist young women school leavers or women who after raising a family and working in the community are now seeking second chance education. Scholarships and prizes are awarded to women who show promise and have been active in their communities where the family might not otherwise be in a position to afford the costs of tertiary education. Each woman must have resided in or attended secondary school in Lower Hutt City for at least three years and the course of tertiary study chosen needs to be NZQA approved.
