Mission: The Heart Trust is a specialist funding trust that supports cardiac services at Waikato Hospital by helping to provide state of the art technology and equipment. It is an incorporated charitable trust dedicated to improving the quality of life of heart patients living in the mid North Island. The Heart Trust acts to speed up access to world-class diagnostic and treatment services for people living in Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Thames/Coromandel, Taranaki and Gisborne/Tairawhiti - also known as the Midland health region. Working in partnership with the Te Whatu Ora Waikato, the Trust helps provide funding for innovative technology and services not yet provided by the Te Whatu Ora through existing funding channels. Often the Government funding pool can't meet the community's needs as fast as desired, so the Trust helps bridge the gap so equipment and services are available sooner.
