The D.H. Hawkins Poverty Bay Endowment for New Zealand Youth

The Charitable Trust was set up to pay an annuity of $100 per year to the Gisborne and East Coast District Boy Scouts Association for advancement of scouting for boys in the Tolaga Bay area, with the net income paid to the Wellington Boys and Girls Institute towards the charitable, religious and educational work of the Institute in the instruction, training, care and welfare of boys and youths in New Zealand, particularly in the promotion and encouragement of youth in farming. With a wish that the funds be afforded to the youth in the Gisborne and East Coast Districts.
