Educating the New Zealand public about and increasing the New Zealand public's awareness of the visual art of New Zealand, including by (1) arranging or facilitating touring exhibitions of visual art; (2) providing prizes to pre-eminent artists, selected by an independent committee appointed by the Trustees for that purposes; (3) promoting or funding debates, publications, exchange programmes, workshops, exhibitions and any similar activities customarily undertaken by major art institutions.
