About
Advance education by raising awareness of the general public about the role and value of honey bees and other pollinating insects to the environment. Encourage, promote and educate on ways the general public can support the wellbeing of honey bees in NZ. To facilitate amateur beekeepers in Southland by providing a form and support. Promote a high standard of beekeeping practise through education and scientific information, practise expertise, provide ongoing training in apiculture. Provide representation on behalf of Southland beekeepers in discussion, promotions and consultation. Liaise with local and central government, training and research institutions concerned with honey bees and beekeeping in New Zealand. Liaise with other likeminded organisations to achieve the above objectives, including clubs and organisations.
