Mission

VISION: To have confident, resilient tamariki on Aotea | Great Barrier Island as kaitiaki of our moana. PROGRAMME GOALS a. To foster personnel development of our tamariki and volunteers through our summer water based programme. b .To increase environmental awareness through active participation in, for and about the marine environment. c. To increase the well-being and enjoyment for the community by providing a vehicle for more involvement and therefore improving social opportunities. d. To provide training and employment for young people and adults in water activities/safety and administration/organisational skills thereby improving economic opportunities. e. To provide a resource for specialised maritime and marine training and development for the community on Aotea | Great Barrier Island, utilising the unique waterside character of Mulberry Grove (the school and beach) and Tryphena Harbour.
