Runanga Miners Hall Trust

The objectives of the Trust are- - To raise, receive and administer funds, and the investment thereof, for the purposes of the restoration, preservation and maintenance of the Runanga Miners Hall historic building, situated at McGowan Street, Runanga - To refurbish the Runanga Miners Hall building in accordance with the Conservation Plan prepared by Ian Bowman and as approved by Heritage New Zealand, and otherwise in accordance with the conditions of any other resource consents that may be applicable - To reinforce the buildings historical linkage with the working class history through community education seminars, educative materials, public walkthroughs, signage and displays - To conserve and curate a collection that is made available for public use, education and awareness, as a means of assimilating and publicising the history and culture of all individuals and organisations at a regional and national level, of those who contributed to the settlement of Runanga and the construction
