The Trust owns 91 hectares of land, certificate of title number 708898, adjacent to Rameka Creek Road, East Takaka, Golden Bay. This land is managed for public appreciation and enjoyment, recreation, restoration, reforestation and carbon sequestration. A protective forest sink covenant (#16/09/0023) from Her Majesty the Queen in right of New Zealand acting by and through the Minister of Forestry pursuant to section 67Y of the Forests Act 1949 and the Permanent Forest Sink Initiative is registered on the title . The Trust's purposes are: To sequester carbon through forest growth as a response to climate change, To acquire and hold land for public enjoyment, To promote the revegetation of native forest and to enhance the beauty of the land held, To provide access to enable members of the public to enjoy and appreciate it via recreation, To promote public understanding appreciation and enjoyment of the natural environment, native forest, reforestation and carbon sequestration
