Progress Castlecliff is a community-based charitable organisation that has worked to progress improvements near Castlecliff Beach area of Whanganui since 1994. As at September 2025 our principal ongoing operations are... - operating & preserving the historic Duncan Pavilion as an iconic beachside community and events venue (since 1994-now) - operating the Castlecliff Library and Community Hub (2019-now) In addition to these ongoing activities Progress Castlecliff undertakes work for the environment & people of Te Kaihai-o-Kupe (Castlecliff) as opportunities arise Examples of these have been - Pavilion Disability ramp/toilet 2003 - Castlecliff Skate Bowl 2005 - Castlecliff Coastcare (2005-2025) - Six60 event in Castlecliff 2024 - Paint Up the Park (basketball court with giant mural) 2023 - Film nights, community sport events & more - advocacy for community by participation with Local & Regional Council annual, long-term, coastal, sport & rec, transport & other planning processes
