Pou Kapua Creations Trust

Pou Kapua Creations Trust is the legal owner and guardian of Pou Kapua, which includes the Pou that stands 20 metres high, traditionally, and intricately carved in three dimensions from ancient kauri, totara, and steel, and painted, oiled, and decorated with paua, whalebone, crystal, and other adornments. It includes the two Moai (3 metres, 3 tonnes each) carved from hinuera stone. Pou Kapua stands at 770 Great South Road, Wiri, Manukau. Pou Kapua Creations Trust retains legal ownership and mana kaitiaki of Pou Kapua in perpetuity for past, present, and future generations. Pou Kapua Creations seeks to empower traditional knowledge holders, contemporary scholars, practitioners and artisans from the Pacific, Aotearoa New Zealand and from around the globe to come together and collectively expand the horizons of Indigenous language, knowledge, and practice.
