About
The Institute's purpose is to increase the profile of New Zealand agricultural and horticultural science; to be actively involved in government policy planning affecting agricultural and horticultural science; to foster scientific innovation and excellence; to be a leading facilitator of agricultural and horticultural science information exchange; to encourage membership involvement nationally, internationally and at student level; to provide real benefits to all members by promoting conferences in New Zealand and overseas; producing publications and encouraging members to go to section meetings. The Institute also represents the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) within New Zealand. The primary roles of the Institute are to be a professional organisation representing those professional involved in agricultural and horticultural science. To provide an independent neutral forum for debate on agricultural and horticultural science issues.
