Mission: The Trust was set up in 1963 to run the Lister Hospital in Takapuna as a not for profit entity. Following the sale of the hospital in 1985, the Trust has pursed purposes focussed predominantly on the promotion and advancement of the physical or mental health, or spiritual welfare of members of the North Shore and Rodney Communities. As the Trust is no longer running a hospital the Trustees decided in 2018 that it is not practicable or desirable to carry out the purposes of the Trust. A new Trust, the Lister Presbyterian Health Trust established to carry on the legacy of of the Hospital Trust. The Trustees resolved to distribute the assets of the Trust to the Trustees of the Lister Presbyterian Health Trust. To avoid penalties for early repayment of term deposits held by the Trust, it was decided that these term deposits be held until maturity. Interest and principal shall be distributed to the Lister Presbyterian Health Trust to advance the charitable purposes of the Lister Trust.
