To operate a Community Centre*. Furnishing and equipping any buildings used in connection with the Community Centre and to make such buildings available for public meetings, entertainment's, social gatherings, welfare, educational and recreational purposes and to regulate all such purposes. To assist community groups and individuals to work together to promote the social, cultural and educational development and health and welfare of the people in the Newtown Community. To co-operate with other bodies having similar or sympathetic aims as are beneficial to the community, and generally to do all such acts as shall further the objects of the Centre and may lawfully be done by a body established only for purposes recognised by the law of New Zealand as charitable. * Community Centre is defined as the physical buildings of Newtown Community & Cultural Centre, Newtown Hall and Network Newtown, and any other premises that may be associated with the Trust at any time.
