The Sikh Society will endeavour: (a) To preach and render instruction in the teaching of Sikhism based on Guru Granth Sahib (b) To conduct religious ceremonies as may be required by the followers of Sikhism (c) To render religious services on such occasions as may be required by the members of the society (d) To promote and foster better understanding amongst the people of New Zealand of Sikh Religion and join with other Sikh Institutions for the awareness of the Sikh rights and obligations in New Zealand (e) To promote harmony amongst the followers of the various religious creeds in New Zealand (f) To promote the Punjabi Sikh Culture and Heritage and integrate it harmoniously with life in New Zealand (g) To give assistance to the poor and needy, provide welfare to community at large (h) To hold religious festivals, symposiums, seminars, youth camps and courses on religious affairs (i) The above objects are confined to being operated within the country of New Zealand
