About
To contribute to the religious, spiritual and cultural development of the Sikhs in Hawke's Bay and to promote the Punjabi language. To liaise and co-operate with other Sikh societies in New Zealand to promote the Sikh faith throughout New Zealand, To provide and establish a link between the Sikh societies in New Zealand and other religious Sikh societies throughout the world so that information on matters of common interest may be exchanged and fraternal feelings fostered, To carry out the objectives of the Society according to principles set out in the Sikh Rehar Maryada namely- to establish and maintain Gurdwara Sahibs to conduct religious ceremonies for the followers of Sikhism to promote and foster a better understanding amongst the people of New Zealand and the Sikh religion to arrange from time to time speakers to deliver discourses in Gurbani, Sikh history and Sikh traditions to arrange Amrit Sanchar - the Sikh Baptism to give assistance to the poor and needy.
