To conduct in Dunedin - The City of Science - public New Zealand International Science Festivals and Events on an annual basis which celebrate and promote the contributions science makes to society - past, present and future. To celebrate New Zealand’s excellence in environmental, scientific and technological education and research within all sectors of the community and particularly to those involved in primary, secondary and tertiary education. To conduct Festivals and events to promote public awareness and interest in the environment, science and technology. To enhance the local economy by the promotion of science and technology opportunities, through research and education, available through Otago’s educational facilities, particularly its tertiary institutions. To promote and secure the reputation of Dunedin as a venue for conventions, conferences, symposium and other events in the fields of science, technology and the environment, science education and research.
