New Zealand College of Midwives Waikato/Taranaki Region

The purpose of the organisation (Waikato/Taranaki Region) is to provide and promote quality standards for New Zealand midwives by ensuring and maintaining a woman-centered focus. The Region works in partnership with women by encouraging membership and involvement in the development and maintenance of the midwifery profession. The Region is responsible for amongst other items; -Providing and Implementing Strategic Direction (including Professional Education, Information and Advice and maintaining key relationships) -Managing Regional Activities -Identifying and Mitigating Risk (Midwifery Standards Review Process, Consumer Feedback) -Preserving Assets
